Pupil Premium Funding

How does it help?

Schools receive ‘Pupil Premium funding’ to assist in addressing the national attainment gap between eligible pupils and their ineligible peers.  Here at Summerbridge, children who are eligible for pupil premium funding are our children who: receive a free school meal; have additional special educational needs; are 'Looked After Children'; are children who are adopted and are children from traveller backgrounds.

The decision regarding the allocation of funding is reviewed annually subject to how many children attract the funding and what those needs and requirements are.  This decision is made by the schools SENCO and headteacher in consultation with other staff and is approved by the Governing Body at the first meeting in the Autumn Term.

COVID Catch up funding

Schools have been allocated funding to provide support for children whose learning has suffered due to the lockdown.

Funding is based on the amount of children that schools have.  Our allocation amounted to £9,300 across the federation.

This allows for 6 x 2 hour sessions per week for 17 weeks.

Additional teachers have been employed to cover classes allowing class teachers time to work with those children who, through assessment, have been identified as needing the catch up sessions in Reading, Writing and Maths.

Monitoring their progress is crucial.  All children have completed baseline assessments and will complete further assessments as the school year progresses so that we can measure the impact that the extra sessions are having.  For a more detailed breakdown of how we are spending our catch up funding please click here
